How to Install WooCommerce Shipping Pro with Table Rate Plugin, Manually

  1. Upload the plugin folder to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. Thats it – you can now configure the plugin.

Setting up the Plugin

Once the plugin has been activated, navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping. All shipping methods will be listed at the top of the screen, underneath the tabs. Click on ‘Weight Country Shipping’

You can now configure the method.

  • Enable/Disable – Enable the shipping method by selecting Enable/Disable select box.
  • Title – Title which the user sees during checkout.

Add a new row in the Rate Matrix table by clicking on the ‘Add Rule’ button. The following fields need to be filled in.

Let us take a case where you want to set the shipping rate for the weight slab 5-10kg for USA. You have decided that for 5kg you will charge 10USD and there after for every additional kg you will charge 1 USD till 10kg.

  • Countries – Select the list of countries this rule applies to. For e.g. USA
  • Min weight – Minimum weight for the weight slab. For e.g. 5kg
  • Max weight – Maximum weight for the weight slab. For e.g. 10kg
  • Base cost – The base cost (minimum shipping handling charge) which is applied to the weight slab. For e.g. 10 (USD)
  • Cost per weightt – If a value is entered for this field, it will be be multiplied to the weight above Min weight. For e.g. 1 (USD) .
  • Weight rounding– If the cart weight falls into a number between the min weight and max weight, you may decide the rounding weight based on which the rate calculation need should be made.

Based on the above sample configuration, if a customer’s cart weights 8kg (weight of all products in the cart combined), the shipping rate will be calculated as follows

Shipping rate = Base Cost + (8 – Min Weight) * Cost per weight unit
=10 + (8 – 5) * 1 =13 USD
